Job Description


McDonald’s strives to improve the usability and accessibility of its restaurant website and mobile application for all users, including those with disabilities. McDonald’s efforts to improve digital usability and accessibility are guided by the relevant portions of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and other existing recommendations. The McDonald's Global Digital Accessibility team is made up of accessibility professionals, each with a unique background.

This team has a diverse array of skills and expertise with personal connections to the disability community. We pride ourselves on being technically savvy, and also a safe space for education and advocacy. Our main goal is to help our internal and external partners create inclusive digital spaces. We are seeking an Accessibility Analyst to support the below initiatives:

Responsibilities:

Support the ongoing testing efforts using various forms of assistive technology. Our testers include individuals with disabilities who are native users of assistive technology.
Improve usability with hands-on accessibility testing within the software development lifecycle.
Undertake a brief initial assessment of products to determine appropriate testing and remediation approaches.
Produce understandable reports regarding accessibility issues and impacts.
Work alongside QA teams to ensure proper testing techniques and appropriate reporting.
Manage a diverse workload with strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate effective, appropriate, and consistent communication skills with understanding disability, accessibility, and inclusion.


Qualifications

Proven digital accessibility experience in the public or private sector required
Associates degree or higher preferred
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong experience with assessing digital products against WCAG 2.1 level AA (or most current version).
Strong understanding and use of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
Fluent use of common assistive technology tools to support individuals who are blind or have low vision, predominantly NVDA, JAWS, and magnification tools (i.e., ZoomText) and mobile accessibility (VoiceOver, TalkBack, Magnification/Zoom)
General awareness and understanding of technical, legal, and compliance issues related to accessibility
Ability to work independently and in small groups effectively and efficiently
Self-motivated and proactive about work priorities alongside use of good judgment
Confident and able to work across different digital platforms
