"We are seeking a passionate and experienced **Accessibility SME** to lead and champion accessibility initiatives across our digital products. This role is critical in ensuring our platforms are inclusive, compliant, and usable for all individuals, including those with disabilities. This is a HYBRID role working 2-3 days in the office. Preferred locations are Lafayette LA and Detroit MI.

**Job Overview:**

As a Senior Accessibility Specialist in the Digital Accessibility team, you will evaluate digital products to ensure they meet accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2. You will collaborate with developers and designers to provide actionable feedback and help create a more inclusive experience for all users.

## Responsibilities

- Define and implement accessibility testing strategies, frameworks, and processes across projects.
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing on digital products using assistive technologies and tools.
- Identify accessibility barriers and provide remediations including remediation under the DOJ 2024 ruling.
- Establish scalable accessibility practices that align with business goals and user needs.
- Ensure adherence to WCAG 2.1, WCAG 2.2,  A, AA, AAA, Section 508, ADA, and other relevant accessibility standards.
- Monitor and interpret and advocate evolving accessibility laws and guidelines.
- Partner with stakeholders to embed accessibility best practices early in the design and development lifecycle.
- Provide actionable feedback on wireframes, prototypes, and code to mitigate accessibility risks.
- Assess and integrate accessibility tools for assistive technologies such as axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and others into testing workflows.
- Recommend toolsets that enhance both manual and automated testing capabilities.
- Educate QA teams and stakeholders on accessibility testing methodologies.
- Develop training materials, standardized templates for audit violations and actionable remediations.
- Lead workshops to foster accessibility awareness and skills.
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of digital products.
- Deliver detailed remediation guidance and track resolution progress.

## Qualifications

- 10+ years of relevant accessibility testing knowledge in digital programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Proven experience in accessibility testing and compliance.
- Deep understanding of WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and assistive technologies.
- Expert knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1 & WCAG 2.2.
- Excellent knowledge of accessibility tools and testing frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of mobile accessibility on Android and iOS.
- Detailed accessibility knowledge in technologies like Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.
- Hands-on knowledge of assistive technology (e.g., screen readers, magnifiers).
- Experience in defect management tools like  JIRA, qTest, Zephyr, or other test management tools.
- Technical knowledge including WAI-ARIA, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, stakeholder management skills and problem-solving skills.

**Preferred Skills:**

- IAAP certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS)
- Experience with inclusive design principles
- Knowledge of mobile accessibility standards
- Knowledge of VPAT / ACR documents.
- Ability to leverage industry knowledge to discern future trends.
- Ability to discern accessibility issues from wireframes and code.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range base for this position is $78,000-$100,000.
