This job will establish and implement a range of accessibility-focused methodologies, providing insights and learnings that will digitally transform healthcare and help our members live their best lives. Will focus on the setting of standards, frameworks, guidelines, and governance for accessibility standards that support digital product strategies for Highmark Health.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates with inclusive designers, and product leaders to define the accessibility strategy. Oversees user-centric digital solutions that meet accessibility and business objectives.
Guides the planning, execution, and documentation of accessibility design research to measure and evolve accessibility requirements. Leads internal and external stakeholders to set KPIs, test digital designs, and measure success.
Sets standards for a test-and-learn approach related to digital design, serving as an internal spokesperson and champion for inclusive experiences.
Identifies obstacles to digital accessibility and analyzes the impact on the end user with computer interface disabilities. Contributes to constructive feedback sessions and applies guidance to accessibility solutions.
Demonstrates an expert understanding for "Accessibility First" for ALL customers, creating experiences that meet the customers expectations, and implement accessibility compliance processes throughout our brand.
Oversees the coaching and development process for employees that need improvement and development for accessibility standards practices. Spearheads constructive feedback sessions to guide the team towards accessibility solutions.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a design related field

6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE
Required
Practical experience with human centered design strategies and design thinking exercises, and demonstrated understanding of usability, analytics, and user testing
Experience collaborating with Front-end engineers and Product managers to organize project planning and execution standards
Experience establishing and overseeing a process with accessibility testing on mobile devices and screen readers
Experience facilitating accessibility workshops and training across design, development, testing, content, and management audiences

SKILLS
Fluent in assistive technology - JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Narrator, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, switch devices, Braille displays.
Advanced understanding of web accessibility standards, such as HIPAA, WCAG, ADA accessibility regulations, guidelines, and standards.
Empathetic, curious, open-minded with a desire to improve the lives of our users; passion for educating team members on the value of design
Excellent understanding of current industry design and research tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, UserZoom, UserTesting.com)
Highly organized, self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects at once with little oversight and deliver high quality work on time in an Agile environment
Up-to-date knowledge of current industry standards for technology and platforms on desktop and mobile, as well as keeping up with emerging design trends.
A portfolio that can showcase examples of a successful team leadership and mentoring, as well as a examples of digital strategy for accessibility applications and inclusive design.

Pay Range Minimum:
$78,900.00
Pay Range Maximum:
$146,000.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
