Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Braille Specialist Quality Assurance Analyst with experience in both web testing and accessibility testing. As a Braille Specialist QA Analyst, your primary responsibility is to perform manual tests while using different Assistive Technology tools and utilize automated testing tools to test a variety of different software’s for conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The ideal candidate should be able and eager to participate in the design phase of software development, to encourage usable design and to avoid any major accessibility issues in early stages of product development. Critically, you will have a passion for inclusive design and creating accessible spaces, and a desire to encourage other teams working in software development to share this passion.

Job Requirements:

2+ years of QA Testing experience in both manual and automated testing
B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, human computer interaction, or related field required
1+ years of Accessibility Testing experience for visual impairment, hearing impairment, and motor skills impairment
Experience with reading and transcribing Braille
Experience working with Tactile Graphics
Experience with validating websites (desktop and mobile) for WCAG 2.1 level AA compliance
Experience utilizing assistive technology tools for accessibility testing
Knowledge of HTML semantics/tagging, hyperlink integrity, and remediation accessibility issues
Knowledge of correct use and limitations of WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) in web application development
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and take initiative in performing tasks
Ability to convey the cause and potential steps to remediation for accessibility bugs to non accessibility subject matter experts
Responsible team player with strong communication skill


Preferred:

Experience using Assistive Technologies such as JAWS/NVDA/VoiceOver/Refreshable Braille Displays/Braille Embossers
Experience with Accessibility Testing tools such as ANDI, WAVE, Axe DevTools, or similar tools
Experience with ticketing systems like Jira
Experience testing in various environments such as Windows, Mac, Chromebooks and Mobile (iOS and Android)
Experience testing electronic documents (PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for Section 508 compliance is considered a plus
