Certification required:
WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist) - technical certification requires more than 3 years' experience in hands-on accessibility for web in a number of areas, including HTML, Javascript, testing in various computer systems, auditing, ARIA, etc
Duties:
Create and adapt accessible digital products that meet the standards of the December 2023 guidance from OMB on Strengthening Digital Accessibility and the Management of Section 508.
Manage monthly automated testing of all internal and external webpages. Manage manual testing of select pages on each website monthly.
Adapt information on the Intranet to meet accessibility standards. Advise on the Intranet redesign from an accessibility perspective.
Use screen readers as required to test web products for accessibility for people with visual impairment.
Test digital products with people with visual impairment twice a year or as required.
Support staff in producing accessible documents and web material.
Advise developers and web content specialists on accessibility fixes as requested.
