Full Job Description
This position will be responsible for evaluating and interpreting student disability documentation to determine eligibility and appropriate accommodations as well as develop, implement, and oversee formal accommodation plans for each qualified student in accordance with all applicable guidelines. This position will also provide assistive technology (AT) training to students, handle AT needs for the department, and serve as an AT consultant for other campus partners.

Education & Experience



Position Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Counseling, Higher Education, Social Work or a related field and two years of relevant experience.

Working knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 as amended, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively with a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in counseling, higher education, social work, or a related field.

Two years of experience in higher education setting, preferably working with students with disabilities.

Ability to review medical documentation, neuropsychological reports and other evaluations to determine appropriate academic and housing accommodations.

Experience with commonly used assistive technology such as JAWS, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Echo Smart Pens/LiveScribes, etc.
