We are the Accessibility Insights team within the 1ES (One Engineering System) organization. We have been chartered and funded to improve the quality of the accessibility tools used within Microsoft. In our first few years, we have built developer-centric diagnostic tools for web, Windows desktop, and Android mobile. These tools have been very well received by our initial users and we are looking to extend these tools with more features and coverage. We have also shared these tools with the world as open-source projects.

Responsibilities
We have an amazing opportunity for a talented Software Engineer with our team. We are looking for someone with fluency in building React-based web user experiences in JavaScript or TypeScript. Experience delivering accessible software is a plus, but deep experience in JavaScript and the React library is essential.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

BS degree or higher in Computer Science or related field or related field or equivalent work experience.
2 or more years of software development experience.
Deep experience and fluency in JavaScript/TypeScript, the React library, and other open-source web libraries.
Great problem solving and design skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance and engineering excellence
Knowledge and passion for Agile development practices, including continuous integration, test-driven development and pair-programming.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
