Job Description

SAP Concur continues to grow a globally dominate solution for travel and expense management which in turn grows the diversity of the user population. A key component to product success is making sure our entire user base has access to and can effectively use our products. Accessibility is important part of this strategy and requires dedicated leadership and accountability to represent our users with accessibility requirements.



The Senior Program Manager of Accessibility will partner with our product PMs and engineering teams to drive an accessible user experience across the product suite. You will use your technical experience, knowledge of all aspects of accessibility (including blindness, mobility, speech and cognitive) and tenacity to drive to change across a matrixed organization to work directly with teams to identify accessibility gaps, coach designers and engineers on best practices.



You’ll contribute to on-going policy and guidelines for accessibility standards and requirements and be SAP Concurs primary accessibility contact representing our position and ongoing efforts to the largest businesses and brands in the world. Your ability to both roll up your sleeves as the accessibility subject matter expertise and get into the details, combined with your executive level communication skills will be the underpinnings to your success.



What you’ll do:

Collect, analyze, and report on the current state of products by working with engineering leads to identify and prioritize accessibility gaps.
Own and communicate accessibility strategy and insights to our VP and Executive staff
Drive a realistic balance between the efficacy of user experience for all users along with the specialized needs of our audience requiring accessibility provisions to our complex products
Hold regular monthly meetings with engineering & product leadership presenting burn down lists of progress and plans.
Serve as the main point of contact for all issues relating to accessibility internally and externally to customers
Be involved with communities of users with disabilities and build a volunteer panel of users who will actively participate with our program by helping us assess impacts and evolving best practices
Coordinate with other SAP cloud business group products to drive alignment on approach
Create an environment of empathy and learning with your consultative and teaching approach



What we’re looking for:

3-5 years of experience working directly with accessibility requirements for software
Minimum 3 years working as a Program or Project manager
Passion for technology and experience developing accessible web-based applications using HTML5, JavaScript (Node, REACT), ASP
Knowledge of tools in the market for accessibility evaluation (free and paid) and standards (WCAG, VPAT). CPACC or WAS certification in accessibility is preferred.
Working knowledge of assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, Dragonspeak, etc
Someone with drive, who feels a strong sense of ownership, and actively seeks out ways to get around roadblocks and build support for their initiatives.
A coach and mentor who sets an example for the team and encourages new ideas.
Patience, a sense of humor, and an equal willingness to teach and learn.
An energetic self-starter with proven ability to effectively collaborate and manage multiple groups and tasks
