Knowbility is seeking an experienced accessibility professional with a strong understanding of web accessibility. You thrive in a mission-driven nonprofit space, and you like to support a wide variety of clients with various projects through accessibility evaluations, reporting and training.
Responsibilities

This position reports to the Director of Accessibility Services and is responsible for conducting accessibility audits that provide guidance to our clients on how to remedy found issues. In addition, you will teach clients how to avoid, recognize, and fix accessibility issues through:
Working directly with clients to work through their accessibility process;
Providing strategic and tactical web accessibility support and technical assistance to Knowbility clients;
Various ways of training and teaching, such as creating and delivering technical workshops and speaking at conferences;
Implementing accessibility repairs on client sites as needed;
Contributing to Knowbility’s programs that support its mission of improving global web and digital accessibility.

Knowbility is an active member of both W3C and IAAP, and the position allows you to participate in W3C Working Groups and IAAP benefits.
This position also gives you the opportunity to submit and speak at conferences, including our own John Slatin AccessU conference in Austin, TX annually in May.

Minimum Qualifications
You have demonstrable experience in these areas:
5+ years’ experience in evaluating digital products for accessibility;
Deep understanding of and experience implementing and evaluating to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and 2.1;
Basic web design and development skills (ARIA, HTML, CSS, JavaScript);
A strong command of the English language in written and verbal communications;
Ability to travel (occasionally based on client need).

You are proactive and can work independently in a remote environment. You pay attention to details and are curious about the accessibility. Furthermore, you are also willing to learn about best practices and mentor colleagues with less experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing technical trainings, presentations and support;
Assistive technology expertise, particularly with common screen readers;
Web engineering experience, including programming, scripting, networking, multimedia, server administration, etc.

Compensation
Starting pay range is $75,000 - $95,000 annually based on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time permanent professional position. Knowbility’s Accessibility Services Team works on a flexible schedule. Our excellent benefits package includes:
Health, dental and vision insurance fully paid by the company and beginning immediately upon hire;
401K contribution up to 4% of salary;
12 paid holidays and 10 paid vacation days annually in Year 1, 15 vacation days in subsequent years.

Salary Range: $75000 - $95000
