This UI engineer and accessibility subject matter expert will lead the efforts on enabling accessibility initiatives throughout the company and within Product Engineering. In this role you will contribute accessibility improvements to Medallia’s React component library, provide guidance to engineers, assist in audits, and drive strategic improvements and best practices throughout the product development life cycle on accessibility related topics.
Responsibilities:
Architect, build and implement accessibility features and enhancements to the React component library at Medallia
Work with engineering managers and tech leads to help architect difficult accessibility user flows and complex interactive patterns
Serve as a subject matter expert and coach/train others in accessibility standards and best practices
Collaborate with teams, leadership and product to create and support the roadmap for achieving continued WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
Assist with accessibility audits and escalations
Work with QE teams in creating an accessibility testing process and creating accessibility regression tests

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of industry experience delivering customer-facing web apps using a modern web stack
2+ years experience in implementing accessible architecture for web applications
2+ years of experience with React, including currently utilizing React in their current job
Experience with accessibility standards and regulations like WCAG and Section 508
Testing experience with assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, switch devices, etc
Proven proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with agile process including ability to work in fast-paced and distributed teams, especially on enterprise product development
