Responsibilities:
Criterion Systems, Inc., is seeking a 508 Document Specialist to support a USDA contract. The contract supports a variety of customers with DEVOPS, DEVSECOPS, and Arhitecture support.
The 508 Specialist will be responsible for generating and coding documents to be read by screen readers, performing compliance checks, and training internal and external clients on document accessibility and Section 508.

Responsibilities:

Preparing and testing documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements.
Analyze and correct documents for 508 compliance
Using software tools to identify errors in document structure, headings, reading order, images, charts and tables, and hyperlinks.
Familiarity with alt text, tagging, color contrast, and the requirements of compliance and how to meet them.
Develop 508-compliant templates that can be leveraged by team members to create program documentation.
Identify areas of non-compliance in documents and UI/UX and suggest solutions to achieve compliance.
Assist web team in validating 508 compliances against government accessibility standards on web-based content to include but not limited to content management systems and SharePoint.
Ensure all documents, capabilities, tools and workflows are 508 compliant.
Ensure the following training artifacts are all 508 compliant; User manuals, frequently asked questions, knowledge-based articles, user guides, job aids, training videos, activity guides and sheets, and micro-learning videos.
Stay current on section 508 policy and accessibility guidelines and checklists.
Stay current on Section 508 policy and federal agency accessibility checklists
Evaluate 508 testing tools and new software.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

Current on Section 508 policy and accessibility checklists
Organized and efficient in managing administrative tasks
Demonstrated experience providing accurate 508 compliant documents
Demonstrated competence and accuracy in MS Word, PowerPoint, and layout software formatting and revising
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Strong grammar, spelling, and writing skills
Ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Stamina to produce high-quality documents and presentations in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies to meet customer needs
Minimum three years of experience in MS Word and PowerPoint formatting

Requirements:

Ability to attain Federal Government Position of Trust.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must successfully pass a Federal background investigation.
