About the job:

As an Accessibility Program Manager, you will be involved in developing a rigorous approach around maintaining and evolving our Digital Accessibility Compliance program. In this role, you will develop the strategy around how to maintain the current compliance program across the enterprise, which will include developing in person & on demand trainings, as well as staying up to date on accessibility litigation trends & technology. In addition to developing the strategy, you will also define the processes needed to maintain the program to our high standards. In this role, you will maintain a growth mindset focused on continuing to learn and evolve our compliance program in alignment with the latest technology and following innovative new approaches in the industry. You’ll be well positioned to make an impact as an Accessibility Program Manager working on a friendly and high-performing team operating at the heart of Target’s growing digital business.

You’ll bring empathy, user insights and industry insights to every business problem. You will work to maintain a close relationship between our Digital Accessibility team and our key stakeholders within the Compliance and Legal teams. You’ll help to define objectives and results with product, design, engineering, legal and compliance leaders. You’ll develop a robust and scalable compliance program that ensures we maintain and consistently measure to the highest industry standards of digital accessibility.

About you:

Technical Experience

Expert skills in understanding WCAG 2.1 AA and working in an agile environment with developers and designers in applying requirements to create accessible experiences.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the legal landscape & trends in digital accessibility requirements and litigation.

Comfortable partnering closely with legal on all litigation investigations and questions related to digital accessibility compliance.

Track record in building and maintaining a compliance program ecosystem; to include creating & managing partner trainings and program documentation, developing an ongoing audit process, and sharing out & providing frequent updates across a wide span of leader stakeholders.

Experience developing and managing an audit process using both automated and manual testing to validate results and log tickets to resolve critical issues.

Proven ability in helping to scale & maintain consistent accessibility processes across a team that spans the enterprise.

Experience gathering and creating quantitative and qualitative data to identify digital accessibility gaps, and to measure and track progress.

Able to use data to tell stories and to achieve buy-in from senior leaders.

Proven ability to successfully lead accessibility efforts, throughout all phases of development, within large-scale projects and initiatives involving multiple cross functional teams.

Experience developing procedures to guide consistent accessibility consulting across an organization.

Experience performing accessibility testing of web and app experiences with assistive technology, including keyboards and screen readers.

Soft Skills

Able to work well in a large organization with many partners, with a demonstrated track record of building deep relationships and influencing peers and leaders.

Comfortable presenting to executive level leaders in order to influence and drive change across the enterprise.

Experience understanding critical metrics of success and using them to craft compelling stories in order to influence change.

Track record operating in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. Able to build structure and process, while continuously monitoring and adjusting the approach as needed.

Track record in using a strategic approach to solve complicated problems and strong collaboration skills in order to pull partners into your work process.

Communicate digital accessibility needs and solutions with grace, logic and data.

Showcase examples of successful mentoring of peers, which demonstrates your approach to teaching in order to elevate the work of consultants on your team.

Have a passion for continuously improving digital experiences for people with disabilities.

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs.  A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$109,000.00 USD - $196,200.00 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
