Job Summary:

As an Accessibility Analyst, you will identify, analyze, and explore technology needs for the curriculum with a focus on accessibility. You will review requests for third party tools and resources and design and deliver in-person and online workshops related to the accessibility of teaching and learning tools. Additionally, you will consult with the curriculum development team to advise the accessibility of course materials for students with disabilities and accessibility features for supported instructional technology. You may participate as an accessibility SME on investigations and pilots of new instructional technology. As an Accessibility Analyst, you understand the importance of accessibility beyond compliance and will model Purdue Global’s commitment to creating an inclusive learning and work environment.
What to expect in this role:

Review and approve requests for implementation of third-party tools, media assets, and resources to ensure accessibility compliance.
Conduct in-depth Section 508/WCAG compliance assessments of the curriculum, including the review of the Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs), using automated testing tools and assistive technologies.
Review, identify and remediate instructional materials that present barriers for students or faculty following Section 508/WCAG compliance guidelines with the team.
Review and update course materials (PDF, Word documents, PPTs, websites) for accessibility compliance using assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech-to-text applications.
Review and update our LMS course templates written in HTML and CSS for accessibility compliance.
Review and update media assets, images, and videos to ensure accessibility standards are being met
Develop and deliver training workshops and webinars on accessibility.
Other responsibilities as determined by the Executive Director of Curriculum Operations.


What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree
Area of Study: Universal design, Accessibility, Learning design and technology, curriculum and instruction, web development/design, information technology, computer science, human-computer interaction, multimedia
Minimum 2+ years related experience advising and testing the accessibility of instructional technologies, documents, and media. This experience can include:
1 year experience with web accessibility software (e.g. Site Improve, Monsido, DubBot, Level Access)
1 year of experience with assistive technologies (e.g. Dragon Naturally Speaking, Claro Read, JAWS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
Certification in Accessibility preferred
Experience with multimedia development
Knowledge of disability law, including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504).
Experience developing and delivering training workshops and webinars.
Ability to apply WCAG accessibility standards and guidelines across institutional needs.
Knowledge and experience with assistive technologies, including screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech-to-text applications.
Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning.
Basic principles and practices of project management.
Knowledge of instructional technology including learning management systems, particularly Brightspace
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work under deadlines, plan, organize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a multicultural environment, across diverse teams, departments, and Schools.
