Digital Accessibility Analyst

Position Summary
SUNY Geneseo invites applications for a new Digital Accessibility Analyst to join its department of Computing & Information Technology.

The Digital Accessibility Analyst assists the campus in building, promoting, and maintaining accessible and inclusive digital experiences for SUNY Geneseo’s stakeholders. This position will assist with content remediation efforts on the college’s official website, course materials, and other sites.

Salary: $50,000 – $54,000 commensurate with experience.

Flexible hybrid work arrangements may be an option subject to NYS, SUNY, and Geneseo rules, regulations, and policies.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, human computer interaction, communication, graphic design, or a related field OR an Associate’s in Science with one year of professional experience with digital accessibility by the time of appointment
Knowledge of Section 508 requirements for IT software and hardware
Experience testing electronic documents (Microsoft Office, Google, PDF, etc.) for Section 508 compliance
Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and client facing training and support
Training in Universal Design
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive working environment
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

2-3 years professional experience
Certification in Accessibility from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals
Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, HTML, and accessibility compliance testing
Experience working effectively with several clients or project teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
