Under the direction of the 504/ADA Coordinator, the Director of Digital Resources and Content Accessibility will exercise a high level of decision-making in order to lead the university’s digital accessibility compliance efforts.

Job Duties:

30% Oversee, coordinate, and implement accessibility policy, procedures, and remediation plans. This includes assessing, recommending, and procuring assistive technologies and compliant technologies and software.

30% Develop, facilitate, and provide oversight for training. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging practices and assistive technologies, web and application development trends, and digital accessibility regulatory issues as they relate to higher education institutions.

15% Direct the completion of regular accessibility audits and provide productive and useful feedback. Assist with remediation plans.

15% Oversee corrective action and resolve complaints/grievances regarding violations of the technical standards outlined in accessibility policies.

10% Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree

Years of Experience: 7 years

Specific Experience: Experience in assistive technology, digital resource & content accessibility, compliance with ADA 504/508, or any combination thereof. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA, the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards, and Section 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Deep understanding of tools to aid in accessibility evaluation. Demonstrated administrative/leadership experience. Strong understanding of functional accessibility of websites, web applications, and electronic documents for people with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education Level: Master's

Specific Experience: Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA, the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards, and Section 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Deep understanding of tools to aid in accessibility evaluation. Experience in regulatory compliance.
