Product Manager – Websites, Digital, UX, Accessibility – £500/£600 PD
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager to work with a global organisation on the delivery of a high profile website and digital services. The ideal candidate will have an excellent background within digital and worked within a library, archive, museum or other information/data rich environment.
Key Objectives:

To manage the design and development of the website UX products and services.
Working closely with your team and with colleagues to ensure the product team has a clear understanding of:
The problem they are solving
Why our audience and users would use it
Why they want to build it
How it will it be integrated into the rest of the platform
How people will use it
How we will measure and judge the success or failure of the work
In doing so you will help ensure that everyone, in particular, Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people can access, benefit from and enjoy the content and services.

Main Responsibilities:
To combine your knowledge of technology and design heuristics with an understanding of the kinds of things that our users want to do or are useful to iterative development digital products to the benefit of our users. You will work with designers, software developers, data analysts, content creators and stakeholders to build feasible and valuable digital products. In practice this means that you will need to:

Define and champion the vision for the product and how it fits into the rest of the architecture, serving as the key spokesperson for the product being managed, clearly and convincingly communicating the aims of the product internally and externally;
Day-to-day management of your product and the alignment of your product to the overall departmental roadmap;
Build and prioritise the product backlog based on effort, research and analysis, testing and need;
Ensure the team understand the problems to be solved and help devise desirable and feasible solution with the rest of the team;
Write and maintain the Product Roadmap, Quarterly Plans, Backlogs, release plans and other artefacts as necessary using Scrum, Kanban or other agile/lean product management techniques as appropriate;
Inspect and modify working practice to reduce waste and improve the quality of delivery;
Support and manage the Data Analyst and User Researcher in collecting, analyzing and sharing data and insight about how and why people use of the platform;
Liaise effectively with partners, suppliers and contractors; commissioning third party providers as necessary (designers, developers, researchers and consultants);
Manage a budget and advising your line manager on any required changes;
Monitor activities and advise on progress, slippage, exception reporting or changes;
Take initiative in identifying issues, and to plan and implement solutions with innovative thinking.
Line and matrix manage the product team

Requirements:

Solid understanding of website development best practices including user research, interface design, AB testing, information architecture, domain driven design and software development and deployment.
Solid understanding of web technologies.
Solid understanding of web accessibility standards and designing inclusive digital products.
Solid understanding of designing content driven websites (e.g. content design, microcopy etc.)
Highly curious with strong analytical and interpretation skills
Passionate about the ability of qual and quant data to improve user experience.
Ability to exercise sound judgment about important business issues for reporting and escalation.
Ability to develop and refine a compelling product vision.
Willingness, flexibility, creativity, and energy in taking initiative and assuming responsibility.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Calm with a proactive attitude.
Experience of working in agile or lean product development teams
