We are seeking a 508 Compliance Tester to join our team supporting an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client. The tester will work side-by-side with technical staff to ensure several technologies meet IRS Section 508 Compliance, to include implementation of ServiceNow.

Location of work is remote in Washington DC area. Selected candidate may be requested to attend meetings periodically at the IRS facility in Lanham Maryland.

Ensure testing activities are planned, executed and reported in adherence to IRS Section 508 testing standards and policies.
Support analysis of requirements to identify acceptance test criteria.
Analyze application design, interface, and database design documentation to identify key use cases for Section 508 testing focus.
Design and execute comprehensive accessibility web testing by using a broad range of tools, including but not limited to Web accessibility tool bar (WAT), Axe, FireEyes, JAWS, NVDA, WAVE, ZoomText, WindowEyes, Dragon Naturally Speaking,
Create accessible documents using standard software such as Adobe Professional, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Excel.
Prepare, test, and analyze documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements.
Log and monitor defects using defect tracking and reporting tool such as Rational ClearQuest.
Develop summary matrix of test results
Submit and track defects and issues to closure with the system owner.
Ensure all test activities are defined and updated as needed in project schedules
Prepare and maintain deliverables including test plans, test cases, project test progress reports and test schedules.
Stay current on Section 508 policy and federal agency accessibility checklists.
Participate in Agile scrum team activities including daily standup, release planning, sprint planning and end of sprint ceremonies.
Contribute in a meaningful way to customer goals and initiatives to increase quality and efficiency of test processes.
Support developing and updating project schedules to allow tracking of project activities
Support documenting testing strategies and results within the assigned project(s)
Document specifications for extremely complex computer network security/protection technologies for IRS information and network systems/applications
Work alone and with teams comprised of the primary client and other client stakeholders dispersed across geographical sites
Provide status reports, attend meetings and take/distribute minutes


PROJECT SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degree
At least five (5) years of testing experience required
At least two (2) years of experience with hands on 508 testing of web applications
At least two (2) years of demonstrable experience within federal projects
Experience with IRS projects and knowledge of IRMs
Experience using one or more of the following: JAWS, Dragon
Knowledge of and experience working with Agile principles and methods
Experience with reviewing, analyzing and coordinating project documentation
Experience with reviewing/analyzing requirements
Proven ability to work on and with teams comprised of the primary client and other client stateholders dispersed across geographical sites
Preferred qualifications and experience include: 508 training certification; experience with ServiceNow or KISAM


Additional Requirements as per contract/client:

Candidates must have held an active IRS MBI clearance within the last 2 years to qualify
Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant

Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Apply systems analysis and testing techniques and procedures to ensure software or system functional specifications are correctly identified.
Create test-related work products (test cases/scripts, test datasets, test validation and verification results etc.) per testing standards and procedures.
Prepare any required reporting documentation for the respective testing activities.
Coordinate with project manager, technical lead, and/or other Integrated Product Team (IPT) members to execute and document test activities.
Triage open testing problems, updating problem status, and provide solutions or workarounds for test issues, problems and defects.
Assist in managing testing requirements; creating, duplicating, and executing test cases and scripts; identifying and documenting testing problems; and reporting testing status.
Work production software defects on an as-needed basis.
Ensure adherence to performance standards and best practices during testing

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree.
5-7 years of related experience.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of variable factors
Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
