The Accessibility Analyst assists in delivering experiences that are accessible and inclusive for our patients and members. The work not only contributes to meeting requirements but also drives organizational empathy and action.

The analyst is a stakeholder during the design and development process. This includes assisting with creating and validating accessibility user stories, evaluating prototypes, reviewing designs and wireframes, and partnering on the creation of materials to educate others about accessibility. The analyst partners with other HealthPartners teams to ensure business and development activities are appropriately supported. In addition, the analyst assists with testing teams to ensure that digital experiences are accessible and adhere to WCAG 2.1 (AA) and 508 standards.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in accessibility, human factors, human computer interaction, computer science, or a related field, completion of a related certification program, and/or relevant work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
1+ years successfully working on accessibility testing, remediation, and sustainability efforts.
Solid understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 compliance, accessible development practices and application of accessibility to agile development.
Proficient in screen reader software (JAWS, NVDA, Voiceover and TalkBack).
Web development knowledge including HTML 5, ARIA, CSS, and JS.
Experience with document remediation (PDF, Microsoft Word, and Excel).
1+ years Software Testing (Agile).
Strong client service, consultation, and collaboration skills.
Communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using assistive technologies including voice recognition (Dragon NaturallySpeaking) and ZoomText.
Experience using custom user settings including increasing text sizes, custom style sheets, and high contrast themes.
Experience in the healthcare industry.
Experience using automation and tools to assess compliance.

Accountabilities:

Serve as a digital accessibility resource for the evaluation and remediation of defects and issues by analyzing existing digital properties for accessibility issues and providing developers and designers with workable solutions and guidance.
Review code and output using manual and automated techniques to ensure accessibility compliance and an optimal user experience.
Work closely with designers / UX team members to provide feedback related to accessibility through analysis of future designs.
Assist with the development accessibility requirements and testing/acceptance criterion.
Assist with the education of other contractors and employees on the use of assistive technology and the impact of accessibility.
Remain abreast of trends and developments in digital accessibility.
