How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Digital Accessibility Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Delta’s digital products, including delta.com and the Fly Delta mobile app, are inclusive and accessible to all users including those with disabilities. They will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Delta to ensure we deliver an inclusive digital experience by enforcing compliance with the latest regulatory standards for web accessibility.

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive accessibility audits and assessments of our digital products, websites, and applications, identifying potential barriers and suggesting improvements to meet relevant accessibility standards.
Develop and implement accessibility policies and guidelines, staying up to date with the latest accessibility regulations and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, content creators, and product managers, to ensure accessibility considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle from the early stages.
Conduct user testing with individuals with disabilities to gather feedback on the accessibility of our products and validate the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
Monitor and assess ongoing compliance with accessibility standards and regulations, recommending actions to address any non-compliance issues.
Champion the importance of accessibility internally and externally, advocating for accessibility as an integral part of our organization's values and mission.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

3+ years of experience in implementing tools, processes, and procedures to enforce web accessibility standards.
In-depth knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG, ADA, Section 508) and assistive technologies used by individuals with disabilities.
Proven experience in conducting accessibility audits, creating remediation plans, and implementing accessibility best practices in various digital environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex accessibility concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address accessibility challenges in creative and efficient ways.
A genuine passion for advocating for users with disabilities and a user-centric approach to accessibility solutions.
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Previous retail and e-commerce experience is highly desirable.
