508 Web Accessibility Analyst

Are you committed to ensuring that the extraordinary resources of the internet are available to users of all abilities? Are you dedicated to ensuring compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.0? ICF is hiring a Web Accessibility Analyst to join our innovative and highly driven User Experience team. We’re looking for that purple squirrel who has experience with web accessibility and evaluating websites.

This is position can be based in either Fairfax, VA or Rockville, MD.

What you will be doing

Review analyze, and test web content for Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 compliance
Identify accessibility issues and make appropriate recommendations for remediation
Asses and remediate PDF’s, Word documents, data tables, presentations, videos, and other media so they are Section 508 compliant and accessibile (preferred, not required)
Assure accessibility across desktop and mobile platforms
Log emails requesting 508 fixes and manage bug tickets in the JIRA ticketing system
Provide insight and information to project teams on accessibility and compliance to support continual improvement
Advocate for accessibility as a key component of modern web design and Agile development processes
Support teams in building accessibility into web, product, and service design processes
Keep up to date on accessibility and usability trends, techniques, and tools

What you will need

5+ years of relevant experience with web accessibility and Section 508
Knowledge of Section 508 & WCAG 2.0
Working knowledge of the range of assistive technologies
Working knowledge of tools used for testing accessibility
Familiarity with HTML and the software development life cycle
Experience working on software development project teams
Familiarity with user-centered design concepts
Solid communication skills
Strong attention to detail
