Legal – Fair and Responsible Banking Team – Regulatory and Advisory Attorney
JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC) is seeking a highly skilled lawyer for the Fair and Responsible Banking Legal team within the Consumer and Community Bank (CCB). This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your legal expertise while protecting rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and safeguarding vulnerable populations from financial exploitation (EVP). You will gain hands-on experience in ADA compliance, state accessibility regulations, and emerging legal requirements focused on safeguarding our customers. Key Responsibilities:
Support firmwide legal, regulatory and compliance matters related to ADA, accessibility, and EVP laws for both business and legal clients, including:
Researching state and federal case law concerning ADA and EVP and the potential impact to JPMC
Interpreting ADA- and EVP-related policies and standards, facilitating line of business impact assessments, and guiding responses to regulatory inquiries
Collaborating with Government Relations to evaluate and mitigate legal risks from ADA and EVP legislative developments.
Assisting in evaluating ADA accommodation requests and formulating effective accessibility-related customer responses
Contributing to initiatives that empower elder and vulnerable customers, including Trusted Contact programs, community outreach, and consumer education events.
Advising on accessibility considerations linked to customer-facing technologies
Drafting contractual provisions related to public-facing digital technology that relate to compliance with the ADA and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Qualifications:
JD or educational equivalent, and compliance with all relevant attorney licensing requirements, including requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment
A minimum of three years of legal or equivalent experience, with significant experience in financial regulatory environments being highly desirable
Familiarity or experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
The ADA and/or related state accessibility laws and regulations
Protections for elder and vulnerable individuals against financial exploitation
Consumer banking and consumer financial services laws
Government or Compliance
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority issues and work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
Strong analytical acumen paired with superior organizational, written, and oral communication capabilities, enabling the clear translation of complex legal nuances across diverse stakeholder groups
A commitment to ethical legal practice and the resilience to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while addressing emergent and sometimes unprecedented legal issues
Successful completion of a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment
