Responsibilities
We are the Accessibility Insights team within the One Engineering System organization. We have been chartered and funded to improve the quality of the accessibility tools used within Microsoft. In our first few years, we have built developer-centric diagnostic tools for web, Windows desktop, and Android mobile. These tools have been very well received by our initial users and we are looking to extend these tools with more features and coverage. We have also shared these tools with the world as open-source projects.



We have an amazing opportunity for a talented Software Engineer with our team. We are looking for someone with fluency in building web user experiences and services in JavaScript or TypeScript. As a member of our team, you would enhance our current experiences, and build new tools and services, all with the goal of making the world’s software more accessible to everyone.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications

BS degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5 or more years of professional experience designing, developing, and shipping high quality software.
Preferred qualifications

Deep experience and fluency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and other open-source web libraries.
Experience delivering accessible software is a plus Great problem solving and design skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance, and engineering excellence.
Knowledge and passion for Agile development practices, including continuous integration, test-driven development, and pair programming.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
