Web Accessibility Consultant (WCAG 2.1)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accessibility Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products and services are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of accessibility standards, user experience design, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. A background in quantum engineering is preferred, as it will enhance our approach to innovative solutions in accessibility.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough accessibility audits of digital products and services to identify barriers for users with disabilities.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance accessibility in compliance with established standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate accessibility best practices into the product lifecycle.
Provide training and resources for staff on accessibility principles and inclusive design.
Engage with users, including individuals with disabilities, to gather feedback and insights that inform accessibility improvements.
Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and legislation related to accessibility.

Experience

Proven experience in accessibility consulting or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful projects.
Familiarity with assistive technologies and their application in enhancing user experiences.
Knowledge of relevant laws and guidelines regarding accessibility (e.g., ADA, Section 508).
Experience in quantum engineering is highly desirable, as it will contribute to innovative problem-solving within the role.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to various audiences.

Pay: Up to $33.00 per hour
