**General Description / Primary Purpose**

The Accessibility Document Specialist provides Section 508 compliant document remediation support with an emphasis on PDF, MS Suite, and Canvas content remediation. The Specialist will convert documents to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities in compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1AA), PDF guidelines, and institutional standards.

**Job Functions**

* Convert and format documents to be readable by assistive technology devices.

* Perform Section 508 document evaluation and remediation.

* Apply appropriate tags to documents for accessibility.

* Maintain visual attributes of the original documents after remediation.

* Create accessible PDF forms and tables.

* Evaluate documents for color contrast.

* Write alternative text.

* Work within assigned deadlines.

* Use ClickUp or other project management software to record and organize work.

* Maintain an archive of completed work.

* Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.

**Required Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA ’ s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in - person training session.
