User Experience Designer

User Experience Designer to join our team, working with our federal government partners in areas like health, the environment, and agriculture.
A government-wide effort is underway to redesign their digital channels to deliver a simple and seamless customer experience on par with leading consumer experiences. We are helping federal agencies improve the design of their digital experiences and services so that they focus more on the public’s needs and priorities.
You will be a key member of a team consisting of a Customer Experience Lead, Content Strategist and User Experience Researcher, supporting a premier federal healthcare agency, as well as other clients. The candidate will work with a web development team as well, using an agile approach. The candidate must understand our clients’ business models and goals and will help to define strategy and features for their websites.

Responsibilities

Determining project requirements and specifications
Creating user flows, wireframes, and mockups
Analyzing audiences and their informational and functional needs.
Developing prototypes to test and validate designs.
Presenting work to stakeholders at various levels
Assisting with content maintenance and other work as needed

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in UX design
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG, etc.)
Knowledge of best practices in usability, plain language, and inclusive design
Strong presentation and communications skills
Knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology
Experience using prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, etc.)
Working knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices
Experience working with content management systems.
Experience working in an Agile UX design environment.
Prior experience working with the federal government is a plus.
The applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to pass a background check for federal contracting work (Public Trust) after hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $110,000.00 - $116,000.00 per year
