THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented accessibility tester to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for individuals with deep experience in accessibility testing tools and methodologies who are fluent users of screen readers and potentially other assistive technologies (AT) - such as screen magnifiers and voice input tools. Your lived experience or technical background will help ensure our digital products are inclusive, usable, and conform to accessibility guidelines and regulations.

As a Contractor Accessibility Tester you will bring not only technical expertise, but also authentic insight into how assistive technologies shape digital experiences. As someone that is a fluent AT user and deeply familiar with accessibility tools and standards, your work will help us build products that truly work for everyone.



WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Conduct manual accessibility testing of websites, widgets, and digital content using AT tools (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver, Zoom)
Evaluate products against WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, and ADA conformance guidelines and standards.
Document accessibility issues, bugs, barriers and provide actionable recommendations for remediation.
Collaborate with developers, designers, and QA teams to improve accessibility outcomes.
Participate in user testing sessions and provide feedback based on real-world AT usage.
Maintain clear communication of test results, including screenshots, documentation, steps to reproduce, and help with the prioritization of accessibility issues.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

10+ years of lived experience using screen reader technology.
Experience with accessibility guidelines and regulations, including WCAG 2.2, Revised Section 508, and ADA Title II.
Experience applying accessibility knowledge across a wide range of Content, Platform, and Web applications.
Strong knowledge of how people with different disabilities use assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, screen magnifiers, keyboard-only access) and the ability to effectively assess accessibility barriers.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to present testing results, findings, and recommendations clearly.
Adaptability with evolving processes, prioritizations, and deadlines.
Experience teaching others about accessibility and accessible technologies.
Experience working with accessibility in a k-12 education context is a plus.
Strong understanding of HTML, ARIA roles, and semantic markup is a plus.


The target salary range for this position is $80/HR USD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
