Accessibility Engineer - $231,000 a year

As a Software Engineer at Indeed, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining internal infrastructure and tooling that impacts every Indeed engineer to quickly and reliably deliver products. You will improve and automate Indeed’s self-service infrastructure tools to enable rapid experimentation and learning for all product teams at Indeed.

On the Compliance Engineering team, you will be working to support Indeed’s accessibility compliance efforts. You will build and integrate tools into Indeed’s developer workflows that detect, understand and report accessibility violations. That includes leveraging open-source technologies as well as Indeed’s internal software development tools. Learn and improve our development stack from the inside out.

Who You Are

BS in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience
3+ years experience coding and testing frontend systems
Familiarity with coding accessible web applications
Passion for digital accessibility and a desire to become a subject matter expert.
Ability to engage in service-level mindset for wide range of contributors
Have a strong sense of ownership in every tool they build


We Get Excited About Candidates With:

Experience with accessibility testing tools (aXe, Pa11y, WAVE, ESLint)
Experience using or testing with assistive technologies (including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver)
Experience working with native mobile apps that require accessibility
Experience using and contributing to open source technologies

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
