Digital Experience

The Digital Experience (DX) team at Credit One Bank designs, develops, and implements website and mobile app features and end-to-end technology solutions for high-profile initiatives which are utilized by millions of prospective and current cardmembers.

Overall, the DX team is comprised of highly specialized groups focusing upon: User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Digital Product Design, including Interaction Design (IxD) and front-end Web Development; Digital Channels, including native mobile app development and full-stack Web Engineering; Marketing Technology (MarTech), including content management; Digital Accessibility; and, Digital Delivery, including business operations (BizOps).

Position Summary

As a Digital Accessibility Product Manager, you will be responsible for the ongoing growth, application, and codification of digital accessibility processes, procedures, and best practices at Credit One Bank. This is a high impact and highly collaborative role working with in-house and external designers, developers, engineers, testers, marketers, auditors, and various business leaders. Your work will positively influence the lives of millions of people each and every day.

As we recognize that the best products and services are simple, usable, and accessible for users with diverse needs, you will ensure that digital assets and experiences are inclusive and are deployed in adherence to our accessibility standards. You must be proactive, responsive, flexible, a great communicator, and able to succeed within an Agile environment. You will coordinate the installation of third-party accessibility-specific development and automation testing tools, and the use of comprehensive website scanning mechanisms, all the while systematically monitoring and assessing their effectiveness. You will prepare reports for dissemination in order to communicate and benchmark our progress. And, as a proponent for those with disabilities, you will be a steadfast advocate for baking accessibility into everything we do digitally. Likewise, you will be committed to the intersection of user experience, front-end code, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion in technology.

Essential Job Functions:

Assess the accessibility-specific development and automation testing tools and comprehensive site scanning mechanisms in use, and regularly make recommendations to improve operational excellence
In conjunction with designers, perform accessibility analysis on preliminary prototypes and visual mock-ups in order to detect potential violations
Identify and help solve accessibility-specific technical issues and concerns within websites, as well as native iOS and Android apps
Demonstrate creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
Distribute our accessibility philosophy, practices, and methodologies, enabling cross-functional teams to make accessibility an integral part of their daily practices
Maintain an enthusiasm for influencing, guiding, and educating others on the benefits of building accessible experiences and the overall importance of digital accessibility
Explain digital accessibility topics to peripheral stakeholders and non-specialists
Work with software development and quality assurance (QA) teams in order to ensure Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA compliance
Manage in-depth accessibility audits via manual reviews, periodic site scans, and assistive technologies
Write high confidence assessment reports noting any issues identified through accessibility testing and evaluation, and deliver recommended remediation
Coordinate developing the definition and measure of success, while regularly communicating with stakeholders and interpreting key metrics into actionable conclusions and new hypotheses
Document and maintain expert knowledge regarding trends and technologies in the digital accessibility space, including the legal landscape, guidelines and standards, and more
Partner with Brand, Marketing Communications, and PR to build a communications strategy inspired by our accessibility initiatives, encouraging a broad audience to be more aware of, thoughtful of, and respectful of disabilities, while also communicating and demonstrating new features effectively for end users
Construct an accessibility-based curriculum and construct associated documentation for internal educational and training purposes
Build connections within the accessibility community through meetups and conferences

Position Requirements:

Knowledge of Accessibility (a11y) guidelines and specifications, such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (i.e., WCAG 2.1 AA) and Accessible Rich Internet Applications (i.e., WAI-ARIA)
Experience with assistive technologies as utilized by end users is preferred (i.e., Job Access With Speech (JAWS), NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA), ZoomText, TalkBack, and/or VoiceOver)
Certification(s) from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) are a plus
Experience as an advocate, and/or demonstrated empathy, for people with disabilities is a plus
Experience with Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework in particular is strongly preferred
Scrum Alliance certification(s) (e.g., Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), etc.) are a plus
Experience with the Atlassian suite of products, specifically Jira and Confluence, would be beneficial
Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
Degree in Technology, Product Management, Business, a related field or equivalent experience, is preferred
Excellent organizational, tactical, and information management skills (e.g., presentation building, writing, and speaking, etc.)
Experience communicating effectively across a wide variety of audiences, including project managers, developers, analysts, and senior executives
Experience working with technical teams and management to assemble requirements, and thoroughly describe and document software product features/designs
Experience in delivering high-quality solutions in a rapid, iterative design and development environment
