Responsible for assisting in the development and expansion of employment opportunities for people who are blind and vision impaired by evaluating the usability of various platforms & software, and providing recommendations for accessibility solutions. The Digital Accessibility Manager leads a cross-functional team within SA Lighthouse to prioritize and execute accessibility options. Serve as SA Lighthouses technical lead to advance inclusion and accessibility for all digital products and services.



JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs accessibility audit of applications, systems and websites noting issues and describing straightforward solutions for removing accessibility barriers.
Performs usability testing of SA Lighthouse and customers software and platforms and evaluate probability of success.
Makes recommendations for accommodations for employees and candidates.
Acquires and installs assistive equipment upon managers approval/direction.
Provides support for all accessibility solutions utilizing a practical blend of technical support, best practices, and assistance.
Works with contract suppliers of technical evaluation services and software development to ensure accessibility.
Identify and deliver/support customers training requirements and expected learning outcomes, and make recommendations as necessary.
Participates in the creation of processes, procedures, and documentation related to web accessibility.
Provides ongoing accessibility support using ticket-based system and/or one-on-one assistance.
Participates in strategic initiatives specific to accessibility needs and concerns to develop future and upwardly mobile employment opportunities.
Tracks hardware and software components used by employees
Develops and administers computer assessments of candidates based on identified skill set requirements.
Reviews and edits word documents to ensure they meet section 508 compliance and WCAG 2.0 AA guidance.
Pilot and utilize software tools to identify errors in document structure, headings, reading order, images, charts and tables, and any other document errors as they occur.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree preferred or 5 to 7 years applicable experience
5 to 7 years of experience in accessibility
Knowledge of blindness and work accommodation including assistive technology.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:



Extensive knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1 and successful application to software product assessment.
General working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and web-based applications.
Functional knowledge of best practices for accessible websites and applications, and for accessible visual technologies.
Excellent computer skills to include expert knowledge of all versions of Microsoft Windows and Office products.
Working knowledge of Apple and Android products and the accessibility features.
Mastery level skill set with screen reading and magnification software and hardware to include JAWS/Magic/ZoomText.
Experience with database systems with strong trouble-shooting skills.
Experience piloting tools and suggesting techniques for improvement.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop & deliver professional presentations.
Self-starter with strong work ethic that is willing to work alone or participate in team-oriented problem solving.
