NSA Overview

The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.

The National Cryptologic School (NCS) employs the latest principles of adult learning to design, to develop, and to deliver classroom instruction using advanced technology and multimedia, as well as adapting blended classroom techniques in order to provide training to a worldwide workforce. Not surprisingly, our talented workforce is diverse and therefore, our training and facilities need to meet their needs. Description of Position:

This is a new technical leadership position in the National Cryptologic School. The selectee will
- serve as the champion for accessibility initiatives at the NCS;
- lead the development of the NCS's strategic plan related to accessibility, including developing milestones, and defining resources required to implement an enterprise solution that will ensure equal opportunity to access learning deliverables;
- serve as the resident expert on relevant academic and industry policies, technologies, and tools;
- represent the National Cryptologic School, as needed, in discussions related to accessibility;
- work closely with other technical professionals in each of the NCS colleges to ensure a common understanding and implementation of undertakings related to accessibility; and
oversee the Reasonable Accommodation Process in the NCS.

Qualifications
Salary Range: $102,663 - $157,709 (Senior)

Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Degree must be in Education, Business Administration, Business Management, Organizational Development, I-O Psychology, or an Education-related field (e.g., Educational Leadership, Educational Policy, Educational Administration, and Education Technology).

Relevant experience must be in the coordination of people, projects, or events and/or in a subject matter related to the position in which the candidate is applying. Formal or informal leadership experience is preferred.

Salary Range: $142,701 - $170,800 (Expert)

Description of Skills

This position requires an in-depth understanding of current policies and standards, as well as the ability to work within and across organizations at various levels. The ideal applicant should have in-depth knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act; Sections 501, 504, and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; and the most current version of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). In addition, the successful candidate will have:

- expert knowledge of assistive technologies such as JAWS;
- a proven track record of incorporating successful solutions and/or identifying best practices in the accessibility arena;
- strong critical thinking skills, communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills.
