Job Summary:

The compliance tester will be responsible for the evaluation and conformance testing for Department of State websites, web applications, and software.

Job Responsibilities:

Evaluate and test websites, web apps, and software for accessibility.
Provide input for client reports, attend feedback sessions, and clearly articulate information regarding tests conducted.
Attend team meetings to discuss project status, offer insight to processes and team practices, and field questions regarding accessibility testing, criteria, regulations, and requirements.
Actively participate in accessibility programs such as webinars, training sessions, and other Department and government-wide efforts.
Offer input in new accessibility program and policies to improve accessibility across the Department and to advance policy initiatives for eliminating barriers to accessible ICT.
Provide excellent customer service and client support experience, specifically with imparting results and reporting on documented findings.
Adhere to Section 508 accessibility standards when producing reports and documentation for team use and for client deliverables.
Utilize excellent research, planning, and organization skills, with the superior ability to manage changing and competing priorities under strict timelines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Taking ownership and accountability for all tasks to ensure they are completed on time.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

Understanding of Federal Accessibility laws, regulations, polices, and practices.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA (2.1 Level AAA preferred).
Familiarity with webpages, web application, and software specifically tied to accessibility.
Completed the DHS Trusted Tester training program or achieve certification within the first 30 days of start.
Efficient operating M365, Chrome, Edge, and Teams.
Ability to use at least three of the following: JAWS/JAWSInspect, WAVE web extension, Microsoft Accessibility Insights, ANDI, SortSite, Color Contrast tools, ZoomText, and/or TextHelp Read&Write (other tools may be substituted if they are a recognized Section 508 testing tool by W3C, GSA, or the U.S. Access Board).
Ability to obtain an interim SECRET clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in customer service.
3+ years of experience or equivalent training with web development techniques using HTML5 and CSS.
Agile Tester, Scrum Master, or other documented Agile training.
Technical writing experience.
Experience using VMware or other virtual machines.
