ROLE of the POSITION

The Accessibility Conformance and Design Specialist (ACDS) is responsible for implementing and maintaining liaison support for UNLV accessibility teams, faculty, and staff with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) conformance and design, to meet the UNLV accessibility guidelines, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and sections 504/508 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act. The Accessibility Conformance and Design Specialist implements and manages projects to support Web Conformance Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ADA/504/508 accessibility conformance, and accessible design training and testing, and helps ensure compliance through Alternative Media design resources and developments for alternative access when ICT accessibility is not technologically feasible.

The Accessibility Conformance and Design Specialist is the principal trainer and training developer of UNLV staff, administrators, faculty and affiliates in the support and use of accessibility documents and other processes overseen by the Office of Accessibility Resources.

VACCINATION MANDATE POLICY

Per the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Emergency COVID-19 Employee Vaccination Policy, all NSHE employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious waiver request. QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of three years of experience in Learning Management System-based content creation and management. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and experience in HTML and other web-related coding, as well as demonstrated use of best-practices in basic coding. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
