The Prudential El Paso office is seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to support the El Paso and Newark (GBTS - Global Business & Technology Solutions) Center. The El Paso GBTS Center supports various Business Units and Corporate Centers through numerous engagements, and at times, transitions between internal business partners / roles allowing for growth in experience and career diversity.

Web accessibility is an inclusive practice of making websites usable by people of all abilities and disabilities, providing equal access to information and functionality. The W3C established the Standards for making web content more accessible for people with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity and combinations of these.

Examples of accessibility issues:
A person who cannot see a graphic with copy needs the text alternative so it can be read aloud by a screen-reader
A person who cannot hear an audio or video file needs the text alternative displayed so that s/he can read it
Qualifications

Broad knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for overcoming them
In depth knowledge on accessibility standards: WCAG 2.0, ADA Section 508, Aria1.1
Ability to discern accessibility issues from design and code
Knowledge of accepted accessibility patterns and best practices
Experience with scrum and agile methodologies
Ability to provide feedback on design reviews as well as end to end scans of a given website
Ability to analyze and employ problem-solving skills to recommend the best solution
Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues
Ability to guide and coach colleagues and clients in one on one, small group, or large forum environments
Ability to communicate to a wide range of project stakeholders (e.g. Executives, Managers, Designers, Developers, etc.)
Ability to work in a team environment
Detailed knowledge of a broad range of technologies:
Accessibility on various platforms including Windows and MacOS
Mobile accessibility on various platforms including Android and IOS
Video and other digital media
PDF and other digital document standards
Experience with Assistive Technology (e.g screen readers[JAWS], magnifiers, alternative input, etc.)
Knowledge of web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with modern web application development practices and popular JavaScript frameworks
Deep knowledge of cross-platform and browser compatibility issues
Familiarity with tools for Accessibility such as AMP/Access Assistant, aXe, Comply, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 1-3 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering or related technical experience
Proven experience on a technology project or initiative in a college or business environment
Excellent people, interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills are a must
Self-starter with ability to handle multiple priorities
Able to work effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
Takes ownership of tasks and sees them though to conclusion escalating where appropriate
Demonstrates an analytical mindset with a detail oriented focus
Willingness to take initiative and intelligent risks

Added Considerations:
Knowledge of ALM, JIRA and Confluence is a plus
Ability to leverage industry knowledge to discern future trends is a plus
Experience with Internet or mobile usability/accessibility research is a plus
