Your Role at Sephora...
The Accessibility Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to employees with disabilities within the Sephora Distribution Centers, ensuring they have the necessary accommodations and resources to succeed in the workplace. This role involves collaborating with various departments to promote an inclusive and accessible work environment, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Accessibility Generalist will also serve as a key point of contact for employees seeking assistance with disability-related and accommodation issues and will work to foster a culture of understanding and inclusion within the organization. Additionally, the Accessibility Generalist will handle HR responsibilities such as managing employee records related to disability accommodations, assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of employees with disabilities, and supporting performance management processes to ensure that employees with disabilities receive fair and equitable evaluations. The role includes developing and implementing HR policies related to disability support, providing training to HR staff and managers, and offering general HR support, such as addressing employee inquiries, assisting with benefits administration, and participating in employee relations activities to ensure a positive work environment for all employees.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Program Management:
Serves as company ambassador in the community for individuals with disabilities by hosting and leading building tours for external partners, attending/presenting at local agency meetings, diversity and inclusion workshops and conferences
Own and drive external partnerships with community and local organizations to advance inclusion and equity in our communities
Assists in the planning and implementation of DC Accessibility Training Program goals in designated buildings
Create and deliver disability education training to leaders
Own the measurement of the program impact with key metrics
Facilitate DC Accessibility Training Program and own all hiring and onboarding steps for employees who complete the program
Travel as needed to provide support and regular check-ins
Employee Relations and Performance Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations for employees with disabilities including conducting investigations, addressing concerns, and escalating issues to HRM when necessary
Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on Corrective Actions, disciplinary measures, and consistent application of company policies
Schedule and attend regular meetings with leadership to discuss the performance of employees with disabilities
Leave and Case Management:
Own and address accommodation needs for all employees, collaborating with leaders. Facilitating interactive conversations, and following up with employee to determine if accommodation is appropriate
Serve as a consultant for leadership on accommodations, ensuring alignment across designated sites
Maintain accurate accommodation data tracking
Engagement, Development, and Support:
Own and execute engagement activities in the disability space
Support HR teams in the execution of engagement activities with all employees
Collaborate with HR leaders on internal initiatives to enhance team development, morale, and engagement through networking opportunities and HR projects
Attend productivity meetings and other business critical meetings to support operations and maintain visibility with employees
Support HR teams with recruiting events, onboarding, and orientation
Coordinate, support, and activate company Social Impact Initiatives
We would love to hear from you if have…
3+ years of Experience in the field of diversity & inclusion, special education, rehabilitation services, or developmental disabilities or professional work equivalent. Advanced degree or certification in the areas of diversity & inclusion, special education, rehabilitation service management preferred.
Fluency or basics in ASL preferred, but not required
Subject matter expert on the ADA, ADAAA, and other laws pertaining to people with disabilities
Have demonstrated success in the creation or implementation of program management, curriculum, training, etc. supporting people with disabilities
Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems or challenges through job accommodations
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to effectively give and receive feedback professionally and respectfully, setting an example to others
MS Office Suite with strong MS Excel skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Must be flexible and adaptive to respond to a fast-paced environment proactively
Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs
Travel as needed, up to 25% of the time
