Job Description:

Testia is an international company with 30 years of experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) and NDT training courses for the aviation sector. Testia GmbH in Germany was founded in 2013 and employs more than 100 people at the headquarter in Bremen, in Hamburg, Ottobrunn, Ratingen, Friedberg and Stade.

We are the only German provider with an end-to-end service for structure integrity – with a broad product and service portfolio for non-destructive and destructive testing as well as structural health monitoring (SHM)

We are looking for a/an:

Working Student (Web Development) (m/f/d)

Based in: Bremen
Part-time job min. 4-6 month (20 hours per week) duration and weekly working hours can be arranged to fit your university schedule

Your Mission

We are looking for a student or fresh graduate who is experienced in web development and is looking to further broaden their knowledge within this field. You are able to keep in mind a bigger picture and to apply a holistic working approach. With this mindset you can handle a range of requirements from different interconnected areas like usability, design, performance and compliance to regulations.

We value your knowledge and experience and will take your ideas and suggestions into account to provide you with a chance of gaining hands-on experience in a creative project. At the same time, we encourage you to deepen your knowledge on certain topics and requirements that are key to this project.

The following areas will be part of your responsibilities, in coordination with your supervisor:

Optimisation of the Testia website performance

Identifying and clearing accessibility issues and non-conformities acc. to WCAG

Support for on-site SEO (using the Yoast plugin-in) in collaboration with the supervisor

Identifying and clearing outdated or unnecessary website plug-ins and resources

Website performance measurement and documentation of the continuous improvement

Your Skills

Profound knowledge of HTML and CSS

Experience with Wordpress (Elementor is a plus)

Experience with Page Speed Insights (a.k.a. Lighthouse in the Chrome browser)

Awareness of (web) accessibility

Familiarity with SEO concepts is an advantage

Fluent in English and a further language being either German or French

General open-mindedness towards working in a cross-cultural environment

Please indicate in your application if and in how far you are already experienced in one or more of the following fields, as this will be an advantage. Otherwise, these concepts can be learned on the job:

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) levels A and AA

webpage weight budgeting

compression of legacy image files for better web performance

website GDPR compliance

schema.org / microdata
