Senior Director, Product Accessibility

The Senior Director, Product Accessibility will work with cloud leadership for one or more clouds to develop and implement programs and innovation goals that meaningfully advance accessibility and inclusion. The Lead will empower TMP leaders at all levels within one or multiple clouds to build and own processes as well as goals for product outcomes and accessibility innovation- from product excellence councils that set macro-standards for clouds to working with particular scrum teams and product leaders on accessibility experience and innovation.

Co-create, co-pilot and scale process changes that bake accessibility further into cloud process - including inclusive design, automation, manual testing and beyond. You will learn and integrate lessons from what works, and partner to integrate such changes at both the product and cloud level.

Starting with a deep understanding of existing cloud priorities and roadmaps, and using accessibility data, you will guide product leadership to size and scope accessibility priorities, and align on overall accessibility strategy

Working with product owners, product accessibility experts and our inclusive design team, you will co-define innovation goals - where deep attention to disability inclusion and accessible experiences, including through inclusive design research at the outset of product development, will drive better product outcomes for all.

Deliver a program of coaching, enablement and partnership that enables scrum teams and product leads to deliver on these goals. Co-create and deliver, as needed, cloud, product, or issue specific accessibility education, enablement, and engagement programs

Manage one or more accessibility engineers who provide coaching and consulting to cloud teams on high priority areas


Skills:

Solid understanding of product accessibility. You also have deep understanding of what it takes to build accessible experiences, both from a technical and process perspective, how to help teams identify tangible product outcomes, and how to design process improvements that work for the specifics of a given team or environment

Deep understanding of product, design and engineering processes. You understand how these processes differ between and within companies and are attuned to designing programs that work for the environment in which they operate.

Strategic acumen : You have strong experience sizing, scoping and helping to prioritize accessibility functional issues and aligning with existing priorities. You have a track record of working with product, engineering and design executives to align on strategy and creatively overcome obstacles

Coaching mindset: You approach your work from the goal of teaching and empowering others to own accessibility as their own.

Communication skills/translation: You are able to translate the technical details of particular accessibility issues and/or fixes for executive stakeholders to help them prioritize, stage and sequence issues

Management: Strong track record in attracting, growing and retaining top talent. Trusted manager who helps reports overcome obstacles and nurtures their careers.

Creativity: You work through difficult issues by listening deeply, and aligning stakeholders and sometimes thinking outside the box on how to motivate and drive solutions
