The world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service is looking for a Accessibility Engineer to join the band in a consultant assignment. The client has transformed music listening forever when launched in 2008.

Are you passionate about accessibility and building inclusive experiences? Excellent! We are looking for an experienced Accessibility Engineer contractor to join our client's in-house accessibility team.

Solving for inclusion requires empathy with users, building influential relationships, proposing bold ideas, and introducing new processes that integrate accessibility thinking into product development. Your work will have a high impact as you partner with other engineers, designers, and user researchers to build the tools, processes, and frameworks needed to ensure experiences are accessible and inclusive for all millions of users.

- Work day-to-day with an agile team of engineers, designers, user researchers, and product managers to build and maintain their central approach to accessibility
- Collaborate with other engineering teams on code reviews, evolving shared processes and tooling to support many teams working on the client's exciting range of products
- Propose and lead initiatives that help achieve their goal of scaling accessibility and ultimately making the Spotify experience more inclusive

- Educate, inspire, and influence colleagues by sharing your knowledge and experience of accessibility through guidelines and accessibility training based on findings from user research
- Drive the adoption of accessibility across the company by partnering and occasionally embedding with their product teams as they update existing and build exciting new features
- Find innovative approaches, improve the developer experience, and remove any friction teams may have when building accessible experiences

- You have good knowledge and understanding of WCAG criteria and accessibility best practices
- You are aware of the needs and challenges people with disabilities face when using software
- You understand and are able to articulate the difference between web accessibility and mobile accessibility
- You are comfortable using assistive technologies such as screen readers and accessibility features across various platforms (incl. VoiceOver, Talkback, Browser extensions, JAWS, and NVDA)
- You have experience auditing and testing digital products for accessibility
- You enjoy mentoring and supporting peers and engineering teams, fostering the best engineering and accessibility practices
- You are eager to learn new technologies (the client will support you with training & mentoring)
