Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the open position of a Web Content Specialist. The Web Content Specialist serves as a strategic advisor to partners across campus, purposefully fulfilling their goals and objectives, helping to increase knowledge, supporting fundraising efforts, engaging students, alumni, faculty, and staff, and increasing enrollment through building, migrating, and enhancing webpages. A successful candidate in this role will have a working knowledge of responsive design and CMS-based website publishing and graphic design support, strong interpersonal communications skills, and experience supporting colleagues across campus with varying levels of digital communications experience. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of two years of professional experience in web content specialist or similar roles.

Preferred Qualifications: A successful candidate in this role will have a working knowledge of responsive design and CMS-based website publishing and graphic design support, strong interpersonal communications skills, and experience supporting colleagues across campus with varying levels of digital communications experience.

Special Requirements Summary:
* Section 508 Compliance: Experienced in testing and implementing Section 508, ADA, and WCAG accessibility standards to ensure digital content is accessible for individuals with disabilities, including conducting accessibility compliance audits and providing recommendations for remediation.
* SEO: Experience optimizing web content for search engines using metadata, keywords, and accessibility best practices to improve visibility and engagement.

Knowledge, Education, Experience, and Proficiencies:
* HTML: Knowledgeable in writing and editing HTML code to create and maintain web pages, including structuring content, styling, and adding interactive elements.
* CommonLook: Experience using CommonLook software to ensure digital content meets accessibility standards, including PDF remediation and accessibility reporting.
* Adobe Acrobat Professional: Proficient in creating, editing, and optimizing PDF documents, including form creation, digital signatures, and accessibility features.
* Experience writing and editing CSS code to control web page layout, visual styling, and user experience, including responsive design and mobile optimization.
* Experience with creating content in Cascade Server.
* Experience in IT systems administration or user support.
* Strong leadership and project management skills.
* Ability to represent University Communications or chair committees, councils, and task forces.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to align efforts with institutional goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Update website through page builds, search engine optimization, and article development.
* Develop and maintain processes to keep content development and related digital projects running smoothly.
* Write, edit, and proofread content for webpages, applications, and other forms of web-based communication to ensure consistency in style and tone as assigned.
* Complete website requests promptly and effectively, including reviewing, proofing, and approving content from website users.
* Identify trends and insights and provide thought leadership to optimize user experience.
* Work closely with the Office of Technology Administration to ensure consistency.
* Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners as needed. Create a system for user feedback and analyze it to perform regular site reviews to ensure that content is up-to-date, accurate, and user-friendly.
