SweetRush is seeking a highly skilled Accessibility & Interactive Media Designer who combines expertise in graphic design with deep knowledge of digital accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508, PDF/UA). This role involves creating, designing, and implementing accessible and interactive digital documents across multiple formats, including PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Word files, G Suite documents (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets), and eLearning content. The ideal candidate will bring a creative approach to inclusive design, ensuring that every piece of content is both visually compelling and fully accessible to all users.
Key Responsibilities:
·Design, develop, and remediate accessible documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, InDesign exports, G Suite formats, etc.) following WCAG 2.1 and PDF/UA standards.
·Create and implement interactive PDFs and learning materials with accessible navigation, tagging structure, alternative text, reading order, and form fields.
·Collaborate with designers, developers, and content creators to ensure accessibility is integrated from concept to delivery.
·Conduct accessibility testing using screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS), color contrast analyzers, and validation software (e.g., PAC 3, CommonLook).
·Provide training and guidance to internal teams on accessible design and content creation workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
·Degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, or related field.
·Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and G Suite accessibility features.
·Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and PDF/UA compliance.
·Experience creating interactive and multimedia content with accessibility in mind.
·Ability to merge aesthetic design principles with technical accessibility standards.
·Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Experience in eLearning, publishing, or corporate communications environments.
·Familiarity with ARIA labels, accessible HTML, and EPUB formats.
·Accessibility certifications (IAAP CPACC, ADS, or WAS) are a plus.
A portfolio is a must for this position.
