Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
Three (3) years of full time experience with creating training materials, online content development, or instructional development.
Experience with designing and developing engaging online training modules using multimedia and interactive elements.
Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Learning, Communications, or a related field.
Experience developing compliance-related online training content on Title VII, Title IX, ADA, Sexual Harassment Prevention, or diversity and inclusion.
Experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Rise 360).
Experience with video production and editing for online learning.
Experience conducting needs assessments and evaluating training program effectiveness.
Certification in instructional design, e-learning development, or related areas (e.g., CPLP, Certified E-Learning Professional).
Experience with accessibility standards and best practices for online learning content (WCAG, Section 508).
Experience with the subject matter related to equity, access, and a working understanding of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, and Sexual Harassment Prevention principles.
Experience delivering in-person or web-based training on company policies, including relevant laws and regulations.
Experience with project management methodologies for content development projects.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Training Design and Coordinator is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training programs that advance the University’s strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with state, federal, and SUNY system requirements. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in reviewing and handling sensitive matters—including labor relations issues, student conduct information, and pending discrimination or harassment cases—to identify training needs and implement responsive, legally compliant training solutions. This role requires collaboration with senior administrators, legal counsel, and compliance offices to ensure training programs align with institutional priorities while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. Incumbent must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information in a concise and engaging manner online.

Training Development & Instructional Design

Design, develop, and maintain accessible, interactive online training content that incorporates multimedia resources.
Develop training materials on critical topics such as discrimination complaints, accommodation requests, sexual harassment prevention, sexual violence response, and diversity and inclusion. Ensure training is legally compliant, pedagogically sound, and reflective of current SUNY and University priorities.

Needs Assessment & Strategic Planning

Collaborate with the Training Manager to assess and anticipate training needs based on institutional initiatives, SUNY directives, and evolving legal requirements.
Review sensitive employee relations matters, grievance information, and student data to shape training priorities.
Contribute to long-term training strategies that promote compliance and organizational effectiveness.

Collaboration & Consultation

Partner with subject matter experts and campus stakeholders to ensure training content is accurate, current, and responsive to institutional needs.
Work closely with offices such as Employee and Labor Relations, Human Resources, Student Conduct, General Counsel, and Accessibility Support on pending ADA, Title VII, and Title IX matters to develop targeted training interventions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students regarding training requirements, access, technical issues, and related policy questions.

Research & Special Projects

Conduct research on laws, regulations, and best practices related to Title IX, Title VII, ADA, and other compliance areas.
Develop special projects that support institutional priorities and SUNY system initiatives.

Course Maintenance & Quality Assurance

Evaluate training program effectiveness through participant feedback, performance metrics, and compliance outcomes.
Revise and update training content regularly to maintain accuracy, relevance, and learner engagement.
Maintain a calendar to ensure timely course updates, reminders, and compliance deadlines.

Reporting & Records Management

Track and maintain records of training participation, outcomes, and revisions.
Generate reports on training compliance, course effectiveness, and institutional training trends. Provide compliance data to supervisors regarding employees who are not meeting mandatory training requirements.

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration

Assist with the administration of the University’s LMS, including uploading courses, troubleshooting access issues, and identifying system enhancements to improve learner experience.

Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
