LSA Advancement is seeking detail-oriented, motivated students to join our Title II Document Accessibility Team. This initiative supports the university’s commitment to digital accessibility and an inclusive campus community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete the provided training on digital accessibility standards and tools.
* Review and remediate (edit) Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) documents to meet digital accessibility standards (including WCAG 2.1 AA).
* Utilize accessibility checkers and U-M best practices for structure, color contrast, tagging, alternative text, and readable layout.
* Collaborate with content owners and team members to resolve accessibility barriers.
* Contribute to documentation and tutorials to promote accessibility awareness across our team.
* Available for staff meetings.
Qualifications:
* Current University of Michigan student (undergraduate or graduate).
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills.
* Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Students must have **work-study** to be eligible for this position.
$15.00 per hour. Hybrid schedule. 12-20 hours per week.
