We are Hiring Accessibility Specialist

Location: Bangalore / Pune

Experience: 5 to 8 Years

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Accessibility Specialist to help us build products that are truly usable by everyone. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our web and mobile applications meet the highest standards of accessibility, usability, and compliance. You will work closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and QA teams to embed accessibility into every stage of the product lifecycle—from early design reviews to release readiness.

What You’ll Do

Accessibility Evaluation & Compliance
• Conduct detailed accessibility assessments of web applications (Angular, React) and mobile applications (React Native – iOS & Android).
• Ensure products comply with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and ADA accessibility requirements.
• Evaluate user experiences for people with diverse disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
• Identify accessibility gaps related to keyboard navigation, focus management, screen reader interaction, visual contrast, form behavior, and dynamic content.

Manual & Automated Testing
• Perform hands-on manual testing using assistive technologies, including: NVDA, JAWS (other alternatives), VoiceOver, TalkBack.
• Leverage automated tools such as axe DevTools, Lighthouse, WAVE.
• Balance automated results with manual validation to ensure accuracy and real-world usability.

Reporting & Guidance
• Produce clear, well-structured accessibility audit reports that include: WCAG 2.2 success criteria mapping, issue severity and user impact, reproducible steps and recommended solutions.
• Work closely with engineering teams to clarify findings and guide effective remediation.
• Maintain accessibility guidelines, checklists, and reference documentation for ongoing use.

Collaboration, Enablement & Mentorship
• Partner with Design teams to review UX and visual designs for accessibility early in the process.
• (Good to have) Experience reviewing accessibility in Figma designs.
• Collaborate with Developers to promote accessible coding practices, semantic HTML, and appropriate ARIA usage.
• (Good to have) Familiarity with accessibility validation using Storybook.
• Mentor and support Developers and QA engineers by conducting accessibility knowledge-sharing sessions, helping teams build confidence in accessibility testing, and encouraging accessibility as a shared responsibility, not a final checkpoint.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background
• 5 - 7 years of professional experience in accessibility testing and compliance.
• Hands-on experience evaluating both web and mobile applications.
• Proven understanding of WCAG 2.2 Level AA and ADA compliance in real-world applications.
• Experience working within a product-focused engineering environment.

Certifications (Strongly Preferred)
• IAAP CPACC – Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies
• IAAP WAS – Web Accessibility Specialist
• IAAP CPWA – Certified Professional in Web Accessibility
• Any recognized certification in accessibility or inclusive design

Technical Expertise
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML and accessible UI patterns, ARIA roles, states, and properties, keyboard accessibility and focus management, screen reader behavior across platforms.
• Practical experience with: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack, axe DevTools, Lighthouse, and WAVE.
