This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a **Senior Designer, Design Systems — Accessibility & Internationalization** in the **United States**.

We are seeking a systems-minded, product-focused designer to help build and scale inclusive design components and frameworks. In this role, you will ensure that design elements are accessible and globally usable, embedding accessibility (a11y) and internationalization (i18n) into components, libraries, and documentation. You will collaborate with engineers, localization specialists, content designers, and UX leads to establish best practices and governance models that make design adoption seamless. This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation, influence design systems strategy, and lead initiatives that enhance user experience across diverse audiences. You will also mentor peers and contribute to a culture of inclusive design, shaping scalable solutions that have a lasting impact.

**Accountabilities:**

As a Senior Designer for Design Systems — Accessibility & Internationalization, you will:

* Ensure all components and layouts meet WCAG 2.1/2.2+ accessibility standards and are localization-ready by default (RTL support, date/time formats, pluralization).
* Develop roadmaps to optimize product experiences for accessible behaviors, including keyboard navigation, ARIA roles, and focus states.
* Define component behaviors, guidelines, and usage best practices that accommodate assistive technologies and cultural variation.
* Embed accessibility and internationalization into Figma libraries, tokens, and documentation, collaborating with design technologists and engineers.
* Establish contribution and governance models that include accessibility and internationalization review.
* Lead education initiatives, audits, and workshops to embed inclusive design practices across the organization.
* Prototype and explore solutions using emerging tools and technologies to enhance the design system.

Requirements
------------

The ideal candidate will have:

* A portfolio demonstrating impactful, scalable design with a focus on accessibility and systems thinking.
* Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and internationalization best practices (Unicode, RTL, localization workflows).
* Experience building and documenting component libraries, token strategies, and scalable design systems.
* Ability to prioritize projects, drive decisions, and balance complexity with usability in a fast-paced environment.
* Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence cross-functional teams and leadership.
* Curiosity and passion for emerging tools and design technologies that accelerate innovation.
