Digital Accessibility Lead: 26-00739

Job Summary: We are seeking a Digital Accessibility Program Lead to drive the development and scaling of our accessibility program, shifting its integration from a compliance checkbox to a pivotal component of product design and development. The role involves refining accessibility processes, stewarding cross-team collaboration, and fostering a culture of inclusivity through enablement and education. The successful candidate will champion the infusion of accessibility practices into all aspects of our product lifecycle, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of accessibility and enhance user experience for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, refine, and implement accessibility processes, standards, and workflows that seamlessly scale across product teams.
- Foster strategic partnerships with design, engineering, and product leadership to embed accessibility into their workflows and decision-making processes.
- Design and deliver educational programs to empower team members with the knowledge and tools to independently incorporate accessibility in their daily activities.
- Provide hands-on accessibility expertise including conducting audits, reviewing designs, and ensuring adherence to the latest standards and best practices.
- Communicate accessibility goals and progress effectively to both technical teams and leadership, advocating for necessary resources and prioritization.

Must-Have Skills:
- Profound knowledge of WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines and VPATs interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of screen readers and assistive technologies.
- Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams and leadership towards embracing accessibility practices.

Industry Experience:
- Experience across diverse platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, web) in digital accessibility is crucial.
- Previous exposure to enterprise software or internal tool development is highly beneficial.
- This role requires deep technical proficiency in digital accessibility plus strong leadership and communication skills to effectively advocate for and implement accessibility best practices across the organization.
