Department Summary:
Information Services (IS) is the central IT unit at the University of Oregon providing services to campus including Customer Experience, Applications & Middleware, Information Security, and Technology Infrastructure. Position Summary:
The Web Accessibility Specialist supports UO’s commitment to digital accessibility by evaluating and consulting on the accessibility of university websites, web systems, and mobile applications. Responsibilities include conducting manual and automated accessibility evaluations, providing expert-level training and consulting, managing scanning tools, tracking compliance, advising on best practices, supporting remediation, and developing tailored accessibility materials. Expertise in WCAG 2.1 AA, assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), HTML, CSS, and ARIA is required.
Minimum Requirements:
AA degree or equivalent coursework in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications or related fields and at least one year of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of professional experience conducting manual WCAG 2.1 AA evaluations, proficiency with screen readers and automated scanning tools, experience communicating accessibility results, and creating training materials.
Salary and Benefits:
