Manager, Design Operations & Accessibility

The Design Operations (Design Ops) Manager oversees the operational aspects of the Navy Federal UX design team, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness in the design process. They streamline workflows, manage resources, and foster collaboration to optimize design output and impact. The Design Ops Manager acts as a strategic partner, ensuring the design team has the resources, processes, and support needed to create of impactful solutions efficiently and effectively. This role will also oversee and support the team responsible for the accessibility of our digital experiences for people with disabilities in conformance with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

* Design Ops managers analyze and refine design processes and Design System implementation to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure consistent quality
* They allocate design resources (people, tools, budget) effectively across projects and initiatives, ensuring optimal utilization
* They facilitate communication and collaboration between design teams and other departments, such as product, engineering, and marketing
* They evaluate, select, and implement design tools and technologies to enhance team efficiency
* They foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by facilitating knowledge sharing, onboarding, and training for design team members
* They define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of design operations and identify areas for improvement
* Lead a team of accessibility experts that work in collaboration with product owners, designers, developers, management, and scrum teams
* Create a uniform accessibility review process and bring in new tools to support that process
* Monitor and analyze changes to applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations; develop and recommend action plans for implementation/dissemination to management; assist with coordinating changes and the development of training as needed
* Perform other related duties as required
