**Brief Job Description:**

Information Technology BA III – UAT Coordinator

DFPS is looking for a UAT Coordinator responsible for the User Acceptance Testing phase and owning the quality of projects but has a strong passion for testing. This role will be engaged throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, working with business stakeholders and the development team to ensure requirements and solutions maintain a usability focus and meet all of the stakeholders’ needs. Proactively contributes, offers recommendations, and identifies risks and solutions associated with proposed or existing software applications strategies. Well versed in all aspects of Software Development (e.g. analysis, planning, requirements gathering, design, system testing, user acceptance, and defect lifecycle) and able to speak to needs for each. Has broad expertise in the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures, and expertly performs a variety of complex tasks with limited supervision and considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the Testing Team. Leading trainings of different testing disciplines.

Adheres to all Texas Department of Family and Protective Services HR policies and performs related work as assigned.

**Essential Job Functions (EJFs):**

* Manages the relationship with business stakeholders, providing complex quality assurance consultation and oversight to ensure their business and usability needs are translated properly into requirements and ultimately the application.
* Responsible to develop the design and review of Test Cases for User Acceptance in multiple projects with feedback from the project team and stakeholders
* Suggest and implement process improvements that will accomplish team, department and business goals.
* Manage multiple projects’ scope, acceptance, and deployment with consideration towards Customer needs, Project Team needs, and deadlines.
* Provide mentoring or coaching to stakeholders, business analysts, engineers, software developers and QA testers.
* Implements and monitors department performance metrics
* Consult on the analysis of an application, troubleshoot system problems, and implement solutions
* Coordinates with internal employees, outside vendors, and contractors to complete projects and service requests. Defines, assigns, and evaluates their work.
* Demonstrates acceptable level of technical proficiency and quality of work.
* Ensures project schedules are met, and/or re-negotiated, and approved by customer and Team Manager prior to target dates.
* Communicates progress and issues effecting work assignments to the Team Manager and/or Project Manager as soon as possible.
* Manages work activities for short- and long-range performance assignments, communicating with management and other team members in a timely and effective manner.
* Communicates and/or collaborates with the functional/technical team members to coordinate testing efforts in support of one or more application/system within the DFPS enterprise.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):**

* Extremely proficient in communication and negotiation both written and verbally with customers, peers, and leadership of differing levels of technical expertise
* Proven knowledge in Software Development Methodologies and Testing practices
* Experience in various testing methods including User Acceptance, Manual Functional, and Accessibility Testing
* Experience in requirements gathering in different Software Development methodologies
* Proven ability to lead others
* Experience with Problem and Risk Management methodologies.
* Well-versed in various Software Development Methodologies and Testing practices.
* Understanding of key performance indicators and development of performance metrics.
* Preferred knowledge of additional testing methods including Automation and Performance

**Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:**

* None

**Initial Screening Criteria:**

* 4 years of experience in Software Development in Testing and/or Business Analyst roles
* 2 years of experience leading Software Development efforts (may be within the 4 years of general Software Development experience)
* Experience in the software development life cycle

**Preferred Criteria:**
