**SUMMARY**
The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.
**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Disability & Access Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining key accessibility initiatives to reduce and work to eliminate accessibility barriers to Center services, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) implementation, translations, and educational efforts.
**Essential Functions**

* Manage the accessibility plan for integration and continued implementation at the Center and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to continue implementation
* Manage the Center’s language translations by interfacing with translations vendors and coordinating language translations of Center materials
* Work cross departmentally to evaluate and manage accommodation requests for in-Movement learners
* Provide manual accessibility testing for Center educational materials including, but not limited to PDFs, websites, and courses
* Develop and train on internal accessibility processes, practices, and procedures to help departments better accommodate disabled learners, claimants, and respondents
* Spearhead key accessibility projects determined by the Accessibility Audit
* Identify and develop educational materials to better meet the needs of athletes, coaches, etc. with disabilities
* Implement accessibility assessments and evaluations such as the staff accessibility survey
* Serve as a subject matter expert on disability and accessibility needs for safeguarding athletes in Olympic and Paralympic contexts

* Continuously develop competency in emerging accessibility technologies, tools, and practices
* Communicate and coordinate across internal departments to ensure collaboration on relevant projects

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
**Required**
* Detail oriented and highly organized
* Excellent customer service skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Zoom, CRM
* Prepared and able to work in a predominantly virtual environment
* Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information
* Ability to think and act strategically
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
* Knowledge of disability and accessibility laws and regulations including ADA, Section 504/508, WCAG
**Preferred**
* Demonstrated understanding of dynamics of violence, sexual abuse prevention, emotional and physicalmisconduct, and trauma-informed care principles
* Demonstrated understanding of how identity has an impact on interpersonal violence (rates of abuse, types of abuse, patterns of abuse, barriers to reporting, etc.)
* Experience as an athlete, coach, official, and/or volunteer within organized parasports
**Qualifications - Education & Experience**
**Required**
* Proficiency in applying current WCAG standards, ADA and other applicable standards to enhance accessibility of practices and content across various mediums
* Experience with disability and accessibility initiatives
* Proficiency with accessibility evaluation tools (e.g., WAVE, Axe) and technology (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver
* Experience in conducting accessibility evaluations, including manual testing
**Preferred**
* Previous experience as an ADA coordinator or similar role
* Accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS, ADS)
**WORK REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT**
* Standard office equipment provided
* Office environment in multi-story, dog-friendly building
* Some night and weekend work hours
* Some overnight travel required
**WORK LOCATION**– Denver, CO; or a location deemed suitable by the Center (e.g., near major airport and a state where the Center has established business operations. Current states eligible for remote work: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, MT, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI).
This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary range for this position is $69,154 - $76,085, and will be commensurate with background and experience.
