**Salary Range:**$85,000 - $100,000 annually plus bonuses. Salary will be dependent upon multiple factors.
**Location:** Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix, San Antonio or Remote US (U.S nationwide travel required)
**Summary:** The Senior ADA Access Consultant will be a dedicated individual supervising a team performing ADA/ABA/FHA evaluations and may self-perform these evaluations in assisting in the delivery of ADA contracts. In this role, the Consultant is expected to engage in business development activities, professional development, and managing a multi-disciplined team of professionals. This is a remote position, but you should be comfortable with regular travel to diverse areas across the United States and office-based work when required.
**Essential Functions:**
* Conduct and/or review accessibility assessments, audits, and surveys of physical environments (e.g., buildings, campuses, public spaces) to identify barriers to access and evaluate compliance with ADA, Fair Housing Act (FHA), state/local codes and accessibility standards.
* Serves as the primary point of contact between field teams and project management, providing technical guidance, quality assurance, and logistical oversight throughout the audit process. They coordinate daily logistics including site access, safety procedures, and scheduling.
* Review and validate field data for accuracy and completeness before submission.
* Produce executive summary reports.
* Support the development and implementation of standardized audit procedures and documentation templates.
* Review architectural plans, construction documents, and renovation projects for accessibility compliance during design and construction phases.
* Provide technical recommendations and remediation plans for correcting accessibility deficiencies, prioritizing based on risk, cost, and impact.
* Serve as a subject-matter expert on ADA and other applicable laws (e.g., Section 504/508, Architectural Barriers Act), standards (e.g., ICC A117.1), and best practices in accessible design and inclusive environments.
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, facilities managers, legal/compliance teams, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility into projects and operations.
* Lead public and stakeholder engagement outreach.
* Develop and deliver training, informational materials, and resources on accessibility requirements, inclusive design, and the organization’s accessibility policies.
* Monitor evolving accessibility regulations, standards and assistive technologies; advise the organization on changes and implications.
* Provide consultation on procurement of goods, services, or digital solutions to ensure accessibility is integrated from the start.
* Provide overall project direction and communication with project teams and clients to ensure high-quality management, administrative, and technical services.
* Work with partners across multiple business units and geographies to assist with business development and large pursuits.
* Actively participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the community.
* Build relationships and grow clientele in various accessibility markets, including architectural, municipalities, digital, museums/heritage, medical, events, transportation, education, and leisure.
* Oversee the organization and writing of proposals and statements of qualifications.
* Attend conferences and deliver presentations which position Matrix at the forefront of the industry.
* Travel regularly to various locations across the United States
**Education and Experience:**
* Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, accessibility / disability studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in accessibility consulting, design review, accessibility auditing, or related area.
* Demonstrated experience applying accessibility standards and regulations (ADA Titles II & III, FHA, Section 504/508, ICC A117.1, relevant state/local codes).
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.
* Valid driver's license, along with successfully passing the company's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
**Preferred Skills:**
* Certification such as IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Certified Access Specialist (CASp), or similar accessibility credential.
* Experience in sectors such as higher education, healthcare, multi-family housing, government/public facilities.
* Familiarity with assistive technologies and inclusive design principles.
* Experience with digital accessibility (web, documents, forms) in relation to WCAG standards, in addition to built-environment accessibility
