The Accessibility Consultant (E-Business Consultant 3) will work in a highly collaborative environment and will be responsible for providing a consultative role to any project teams who have questions or need guidance on how to be in compliance with the various established Accessibility Standards & Policies – primarily focused on our client-facing technology platforms. This position will also work towards institutionalizing accessibility as a part of the Wealth & Investment Management digital culture.

Responsibilities include the following:
•Passionate about developing accessible digital solutions and processes
•Ensure that solutions for accessibility contribute to a positive user experience for all customers
•Promote accessibility within the organization; advocate for considering accessibility as a vital part of the customer experience
•Perform various tasks related to the governance of quality, compliant front-end code
•Perform tasks to ensure delivery of accessible design and markup, such as:
•Visually conduct accessibility reviews of design assets provided by visual designers, interaction designers, and content strategists
•Define and document accessibility requirements for design deliverables and user stories
•Perform spot testing or heuristic reviews of coded deliverables, as needed
•Educate and inform project teams of end to end processes
•Provide guidance for use of ARIA for web technologies such as HTML and mobile platforms
•Ensure that solutions for accessibility contribute to a positive user experience for all customers
•Help maintain tools and resources such as testing software and documented standards
•Contribute to accessibility training of others
•Lead and present training sessions to internal and external audiences
•Develop and facilitate accessibility training and presentations
•Plan and perform web accessibility testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS, VoiceOver, and ZoomText, with the understanding of their interactions with multiple browsers and platform combinations.
•Assist in the management, planning, facilitation, and tracking of vendor accessibility testing engagements

Required Qualifications
•3+ years of experience in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, 2.1 or a combination of both
•6+ years of e-business experience

•Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
•Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•Professional presentation skills
•Strong analytical skills
•Relevant industry certification (e.g. International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), etc.)
•Knowledge of trending web development technologies and best practices.
•Experience conducting accessibility testing with a variety of tools including, but not limited to, automated checkers (axe, WAVE, etc.), desktop screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, etc.), mobile screen readers (VoiceOver, TalkBack), and keyboard only.
•Basic-to-intermediate understanding of coding languages
•Strong passion for accessibility & the ability to serve as a strong advocate for this group of users
•Financial services background. Brokerage industry strongly preferred
•Experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding language highly preferred
•Experience testing, tagging, and remediating PDF files
•3+ years experience as part of an in-house development team or design agency consulting to Fortune 500 clients
•Expert level user of various (at least one) assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, or TalkBack
•Ability to convey issues to developers and technical partners verbally and in writing to include use of ARIA for web technologies such as HTML and mobile platforms
•Proven ability to identifying creative approaches to accessibility challenges and problems
•Passionate about developing accessible digital solutions and processes
•Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities in a cross-functional environment
•Developer experience
